Production Engineer

Job Description:

Job Summary
The Production engineer is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring
production targets are met while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency standards. The role
involves managing shop-floor workers, coordinating with other departments, and driving
continuous improvement in production processes.
Qualifications
Diploma / B.E. / B. Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering
Minimum 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing/production fabrication
Key Responsibilities
 Supervise and coordinate daily production activities
 Ensure production targets, schedules, and output quality are achieved
 Monitor machine performance and production efficiency
 Manage manpower allocation and shift planning
 Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards
 Maintain discipline and productivity on the shop floor
 Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Store, and Planning departments
 Identify process improvements to reduce waste and downtime
 Ensure proper use of raw materials and resources
 Maintain production records, reports, and documentation
 Train and guide workers for skill development and performance improvement
 Implement 5S, Kaizen, TPM, and lean manufacturing practices
 Handle production issues, breakdown coordination, and root cause analysis
 Required Skills & Competencies
 Strong leadership and team management
 Good communication and coordination skills
 Knowledge of production planning and control (PPC)
 Understanding of quality systems and SOPs
 Problem-solving and decision-making ability
 Basic computer skills (MS Excel, reporting, ERP systems)
 Time management and multitasking
 Knowledge of safety standards and compliance
Technical Knowledge
 Knowledge of Welding process like GMAW, SMAW, FCAW
 Well aware about WPS, PQR, WPQ, NDT
 Basic Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 QMS documentation
 Knowledge of Raw material grade.
 Knowledge of machining process, measuring instrument, jigs/fixtures development.
 Basic knowledge of surface preparation & coating inspection/testing.
